Woodland garden and Mediterranean mini orchard
A woodland garden dominated by a magnificently gnarled Beech tree where landscaped decking, boulders, wiskey barrels, and hazel hurdles contrasted with soft planting, draw the eye to the green rolling hills of the golf course. This shady rear garden with patches of scorching sun grows acers, dwarf pines, rhododendrons, azaleas, hosta, acanthus, hellebore, roses, lavender, and salvias. A sunny patch by the cabin forms a cottage style rose and herb garden.
By contrast, a Mediterranean feel of the sunny front and side garden, where stone walls radiate extra heat, grow espaliered, cordon, column and fan trained fruit trees, vines and bushes, including lemons, clementines, grapes, apricots, figs, cherries, ten varieties of apples, greengages, pears, plums, gooseberries and blueberries. The mini orchard was planted in containers and borders from 2021 onwards and is growing towards maturity.
